The Day After
Posted on November 5, 2014
Nationally, the Ds got their ass handed to them last night. Locally, the big news is Rauner beat Quinn, 51-46, which is good enough to exceed the usual amount of Chicagoland fraud. At least Quinn can say he didn’t leave in cuffs headed to a federal prison, yet.
Illinois is a mess and maybe Bruce can help turn things around, but…
“Even before Bruce Rauner declared victory in the race for governor Tuesday night, he understood the most important thing: He’ll have to deal with the little guy who runs things.
Boss Madigan.
He’s controlled Illinois for decade after decade after decade. House Speaker Michael J. Madigan is chairman of the Illinois Democratic Party, meaning that the all that national and local political money flows through him.”
When 41 out of 118 State House seats ran uncontested Democrats, it’s no wonder why Madigan has the majority he does.
Next up, the mayoral circus in February.
