The Weekend’s Stupidity

Posted on December 7, 2014

3 StoogesAn interesting juxtaposition was in play this weekend – while Fr. Phleger and various others were protesting police brutality and staging die-ins around town, the CPD along with their DEA cohorts managed to ventilate four, killing one. That’s in addition to the honor students killing and maiming one another per usual.

I bet those folks that are shot go out of their way to volunteer as much perp info as possible to the police in order to see criminal justice is done…

I prefer the Hogan et. al. headline picture to the three stooges. While the three stooges act crazy they are probably not.

Some sources cite 106th and Avenue M and others 106th and Avenue O.
Either way, that Latin King was on the wrong side of 106th.

Hillary’s suggestion that we empathize with those who decapitate Americans may be inane. I’m being gentle here. But it did make me think about the endless warfare in Chicago. It brought to mind, through some convoluted path, a famous Greek farce, Lysistrata, by Aristophanes (446 – 386 BCE). In this play, Lysistrata convinced the women of Greece to declare a sexual boycott, until both sides in the Peloponnesian War made peace. Perhaps the first lady, in this case a Chicagoan, could suggest the same boycott to the African-American teenage girls in Chicago. While these kids undoubtedly can’t stand their school lunches, they have great respect for Michelle and, especially, her fashions. A sexual boycott for peace might work both epidemics (sex and shootings) in the Second City. In Aristophenes’ work, both Athens and Sparta made peace, followed by an explosion of sex. Perhaps there’s still hope for the south and west sides.

Well so much for keeping Mt. Plywood blue on the map on HJ.

Shoot someone then wave your gun around a cop, on or off duty, you are going to end up room temperature.

I don’t get the Mt. Plywood joke.

Never really understood why Chicagoans do this! And by this I mean make dumb references tithe neighborhoods we live in. Smh
