September’s 46

Posted on October 1, 2014

CarnacSeptember is an interesting month. Since most people don’t consider it part of summer, interest in summer-like stupidity drops at a good clip as the month grids along. Even though September regularly puts up 40 homicides or more, by this point in the year, no one much cares anymore.

Case in point, this past weekend tied for the second most violent of the year and yet it barely registered in the news cycle.

In any event, this September was not good. 45 46 killed and another 212 211 wounded makes it one the most idiotic in years. September 2013 tallied 42 killed and 154 wounded. Therefore this September was a “More Dead, More Lead” month.

Looking ahead to October, it’ll all depend on the weather. If it stays somewhat nice, another 40 homicides and 150 wounded is not out of the question. If it turns shitty sooner than expected, we’ll likely see 30 homicides and 100 wounded.

Keep it short and to the point. Name calling and similar stupidity will be deleted. If you insist on writing several paragraphs, start your own blog.

I heard a news report on the radio today with CPD Chief saying the rates were below the 1965 Stats.

    What are they talking about?

It;s been awhile since I’ve see so many pages of BS.
We’re talking about Chicago, Not Fargo, N.D.
Population doesn’t mean s###, IT IS THE NUMBER OF DEAD AND WOUNDED!

What’s the murder rate per 100,000? What was the murder rate per 100,000 back in 1965? Last what is the population difference between 1965 and 2014? I’m guessing Chicago’s Homicides per 100,000 is higher in 2014 than 1965.

      1965 – 3.4 million
      2014 – 2.7 million
Chicago is the same size now as it was back in the 1920s. We peaked in the mid 1950s at 3.7 million or so.

this weekend’s total shot should easily push 2014 total shot above the 2,000 mark.
