November Wrap-up
Posted on December 1, 2020
Just as October went ahead and posted its worst tally since the last major election year of 2016, so did November. And once again, Non-essential officialdom decided the best comparison was to use April’s 58/195 as its “lowest since” metric thereby skipping six months of unacceptability.
November 2020: 58 killed, 289 wounded
November 2019: 35 killed, 160 wounded
November 2018: 48 killed, 129 wounded
November 2017: 41 killed, 165 wounded
November 2016: 83 killed, 323 wounded
November 2015: 37 killed, 165 wounded
November 2014: 39 killed, 125 wounded
November 2013: 28 killed, 111 wounded
A breakdown of the month’s idiocy shows:
- 53 shot & killed
- 3 stabbed
- 2 killed via other means
- 0 shot by police
- 0 self defense
- 4 homicide-linked arrests
- Averaged 11 people shot per day
- 5 days were homicide-free
- 70 in serious or critical condition
- 53 males killed vs 5 females
- 45 Blacks, 10 Hispanics, 3 White/Other
- 4 children 12 and younger shot
- 34 teenagers shot, 4 fatally
- Homicide age range: 16-57
- Team Austin led w/ 42 shot, 10 fatally
- 25 grazed
- 4 selfies
- 19 #ShotInTheAss
Our November forecast of 60 homicides with an additional 275 shot and wounded was more accurate than any election poll and didn’t require floating point decimals and weighted calculations. December will likely mirror the past two month and yield another 60 homicides with 260 shot and wounded. This would put the year end homicide tally in 790-800 range with upwards of 4,200 total shot. Neither tally would eclipse 2016’s 808/4380 but would still rank as 2nd deadliest since the mid-1990s.
