November Wrap-up

Posted on December 4, 2019

Carnac the Magnificent Shootings up, homicides down, Slumpin’ Hennessy Ed out, dozens of merit hacks to follow and the stupidity continues with 500 on deck.

November 2019: 35 killed, 160 wounded
November 2018: 48 killed, 129 wounded
November 2017: 41 killed, 165 wounded

November 2015: 37 killed, 165 wounded
November 2014: 39 killed, 125 wounded
November 2013: 28 killed, 111 wounded

A breakdown of the month’s idiocy shows:

  • 28 (80%) shot & killed
  • A person killed every 20 hours, 37 minutes
  • A person shot & wounded every 4 hours, 30 minutes
  • First shooting/homicide-free day since March
  • 7 days were homicide-free
  • 2 shot by Des Plaines police
  • 4 homicide-linked arrests
  • 34 in serious or critical condition
  • 30 males killed vs 5 females
  • 23 Blacks killed vs 9 Hispanics vs 3 White/Other

Our November forecast of 40 homicides plus another 150 wounded was closer than Ed making it to his retirement date. But now, all eyes (at least those few of us who pay attention to this nonsense) are now looking towards the year end total. Aside from a three week blizzard or martial law, 500 is a lock. We’re looking to end the year around 520 which prior to 2016 would have been a pearl clutching event but is now seen as an improvement.
