January’s 30 (Update: 31)

Posted on February 2, 2015

dibsNew year, new month, same old bullshit. A couple cold snaps and a last minute blizzard didn’t do much to stop the stupidity this January – which saw a solid year-over-year uptick vs last year’s Polar Vortex-hobbled January.

Final Stupidity Tally: 30 31 killed, 121 wounded.
Last January’s Tally: 24 dead, 84 wounded.

A breakdown of the month’s idiocy shows:

  • 28 shot & killed
  • 1 2 stabbed
  • 1 child abuse
  • 3 ongoing “death investigations”
  • 19 in serious or critical condition
  • 8 grazed
  • 5 selfies
  • 29 males killed vs 1 2 females
  • 3 no hitters (days without stupidity)

As for the month ahead, February is always the slowest and quietest month of the year. We’ll predict a total of 25 (+/-3) homicides plus another 100 (+/-10) shot and wounded.

Keep it short and to the point. Name calling and similar stupidity will be deleted. If you insist on writing several paragraphs, start your own blog.

Greetings. Is it possible you’ve reversed the X axis in the Homicide Trend bar chart? No big deal but it felt backwards in time. Warm regards and don’t stop the reporting.

I would think the bro’s and sisters could do better than 25 in Feb. First off they need to practice so there is not all this unnecessary wounding that clogs the emergency rooms with non-paying customers. Accuracy is the key and if they practiced the faster we get the rif-raf off the street.

I guess weather only impacts the amount of murders in New York City. Chicagoans are immune to the cold… according to the Chicago authorities.

Speaking from experience, New Yorkers tend to be a bunch of whining pussies when it comes to weather.
