“It’s not the weather”

Posted on March 19, 2014

no_bullshitThe StreetLight Assassin held a press conference today for the trained seals to talk about how #CrimeIsDown:

“Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said Tuesday that the city’s strategy to reduce gang violence is “clearly taking root,” pointing to a major decrease in gang-related shootings.

Those types of shootings have fallen sharply over the early months of this year compared with the same period of 2013, according to the department.

They now represent less than half of the total number of shooting incidents in Chicago.”

There’s no doubt that shootings, homicides and crime in general is down quite a bit so far this year. We’d love to give the CPD full credit if it wasn’t for one minor factor: weather. Really f*cking cold and snowy weather. As in the 3rd coldest and snowiest on record weather. Like it received its own Twitter hashtag weather.

Like all good political hacks, Streetlight continues with “It’s not an accident, it’s not the weather — it’s a trend….”

We often wonder what the crime would be like if, all else being the same, we had Los Angeles or San Diego weather?

Keep it short and to the point. Name calling and similar stupidity will be deleted. If you insist on writing several paragraphs, start your own blog.

All gang shootings will be down from now on. How could that be? Don’t count them and tell the media how well your doing. It’s historical don’y you know. Box 59 will soon evaporate with the rest of the new math this guy has created.

Try a 2-3 day stretch of 60 degrees. But with the weather being the way it has been, pissing off everyone including gang bangers, I’m getting the hell out of dodge when the first 80 degree day hits and the city explodes.

Chicago didn’t rank in the top 10.
