Honor Student of the Week
Posted on December 4, 2014
This week’s honor student hails from West Garfield Park, where she enjoys kidnapping, armed robbery and trolling online dating sites for victims. Meet Latasha Smith:
“Latasha Smith, 28, allegedly used the online dating site Badoo to meet up with a 28-year-old Woodlawn man late last month, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Lorraine Scaduto.
[…] Smith and an unknown accomplice abducted the man as he was working near 15th Street and Keeler Avenue, Scaduto said. The man allegedly was hit in his head with a gun, tied up with duct tape and blindfolded.
Smith stole $600, keys and an iPhone, according to a police report.”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, there’s more…
“Smith then made her way to the victim’s home in Woodlawn, where she and unknown accomplices held up the victim’s mother at gunpoint, Scaduto said. Smith stole $6,000 from the victim’s mom, who had been saving up for a new apartment, according to prosecutors.
The group also took a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, plus two magazines, a police report shows.”
Looks as if Latasha is going to have to update her online dating profile to include various felonies and make it known that she’s not a cheap date.
