Year in Review

Posted on December 27, 2013

2013It’s that time of year when every media outlet rolls out their lists of this and that for whatever happened in the past year. Since most of our stats are running totals for the year, we’ll instead recap some of more popular posts.

Recall our “Stuck on Stupid” post where a local dumbass, er, politician accused the CPD of killing kids: “There’s some suspicion – and I don’t want to spread this, but I’m just going to tell you what I’ve been hearing – they suspect maybe the police are killing some of these kids.”

Who could forget Kreepy, the gun in the ass guy: “A Little Village gang member is being held on $20,000 bail after he admitted to police he was hiding a loaded gun in his buttocks, authorities said. “I’m gonna be real with you, I have a gun in my ass…”

Finally, there’s our original Honor Student of the Week who still happens to be on life support: “Back in June, honor student, productive citizen and all around good guy, Antonio Lewis, “allegedly” shot and killed a five year old and his mother in their New City neighborhood home. He also attempted to kill the 11 year old brother too but his gun jammed.”

We’re confident that 2014 will match 2013’s stupidity and idiocy. Can we do it? Yes we can!

Keep it short and to the point. Name calling and similar stupidity will be deleted. If you insist on writing several paragraphs, start your own blog.

The fuck is he still on life support for? Who the hell has been paying for him to stay alive for half a year? CPD probably doesn’t want to pull the plug until one second after Dec. 31 is over

You and I all the taxpayers in Chicago are paying for the life support for this piece of sh_t.

Meat to say *doesn’t want the plug pulled*

Doesn’t matter. They’ve changed their methodology to match ours – the homicide counts towards the day of the incident, not death. Supposedly this is how the feds do it so the CPD is doing so now too.

        Oh, OK.

And 37 for december? That makes what, 432 homicides (I know you guys have a higher count counting police shootings)? 2011’s was 235 so next year when all those ‘death investigations’ turn out to be homicides I assume Chicago would have atleast 50 (give or take 5) less homicides than 2012.

Theres really no proof things are getting better in Chicago, but it could be worse.

Wow….this sure has been a busy month for as cold as it’s been.

Then you toss in the HoliDaze….Christmas, Kwanza, Chanukah, and of course Ramadan for all those innocents incarcerated and converting to give themselves peace. It’s amazing that the Honor Roll has managed to stay as busy as they have with all of that celebrating getting in the way.

Whatcha think, are we gonna make it to 450? I’d wager we do. Four days left, to include a weekend AND New Year’s Eve, complete with the traditional warning (pending) from the Cook County Sheriff about not discharging your weapon into the air as a form of celebration.

    Now about those t-shirts…..

If I don’t “talk” with you folks between now and then, Happy New Year. I predict about April/ May we start seeing a downtick in homicides/ agg assaults, assuming the ISP keeps it together in accordance with the law and court manates.

    • W.H.Thompson December 28, 2013 at 11:58 am

450 is well within reach. Near sub zero temps starting Monday may halt the advance, but so far the cold hasn’t done much to stop the stupidity.

About those t-shirts… they’re coming in 2014 for sure. We’re finalizing the design and trying to decide between ordering just 1 shirt or going for broke by ordering 2 shirts.

      Happy New Year.
