Enlightening Commentary

For The Children

revenue_cameraWe all know that the new speed cameras are nothing more than a drunk spending politicians’ wet dream. With the release of the latest report that stated that the test period could potentially bring in more $$ than thought, they’re collectively creaming their collectivist shorts.

“New data show Chicago’s nascent speed camera system is already lightening the city’s lead feet, but the numbers are also prompting critics to wonder whether City Hall is in for a massive revenue windfall at taxpayers’ expense.”

“The cameras are not yet churning out actual tickets, but had they been, those nine alone would have generated nearly $13.9 million worth of citations in just 45 days, according to WBEZ’s analysis.”

As any sucker mutual fund buyer knows well: “past performance is no guarantee of future results.

“But the high number of speed violations so far – and the big potential for revenue – has reignited criticisms that the program is more about making money than protecting kids.”

“Our number one goal is to slow traffic down, so if we never collect a dime on this, it’s successful,” [Scott] Kubly said. “It’s absolutely not a cash grab. It’s all about making our roads safer.”

Bullshit Scott. You want to slow traffic down install some speed bumps.

Keep it short and to the point. Name calling and similar stupidity will be deleted. If you insist on writing several paragraphs, start your own blog.

No comment on the comment, but a giant foam hand hi-5 for this site and its format.

And a giant foam middle finger, via this most excellent forum to 9.5, street light shooter,
Little dick, durbin…and all the rest who play God with other peoples money.

I look at this site as a flashlight in the pitch black of night. THIS friends is what it takes,
This along with sites like SCC and one that, thou primitive, can and DOES change things,
Charleston Thug Life, are shining the light, and turning up the heat.

I direct people from out of town along with others who ask me about the windy city, (unless of course, they speak broken English, in that case I provide a map) to check out the stats and roll the dice!

Excellent model, great job, keep up the fine work and God Bless!

Not sure if it’s my iPad but the website is all jacked up. The 12.3% female and 87.7% male graph appears to be the background and it is causing the website to look really weird and makes it impossible to read. Thanks.

Ah crap. We’ll check it out. We haven’t made any behind the scenes changes to the site in a long time. Thanks for the heads up.

All fixed now! Keep up the great work!

Excellent. Thanks again for the heads up.

Per the law, if everyone ticketed demands an in person trial then the process would grind to a halt. Remember the law in camera cases does not allow for additional court costs but everyone can have an in person hearing. Sounds like the process would be backed up for years. Get the word out.

      That’s correct. Excellent idea.
