Honor Students of the Week
Back in March, in a sleepy southeast side neighborhood, a former CPD sergeant was murdered during a home invasion. Yesterday a second honor student was arrested in connection with the incident. The pictured honor student was arrested a few weeks ago.
A 16-year-old boy is the second person to be charged with robbing and fatally shooting a retired Chicago Police sergeant during a March home invasion on the Far South Side.
The teen, whose name has not been released, is charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and two felony counts of armed home invasion in connection with the death of 73-year-old Elmer Brown on March 10, according to a statement from Chicago Police. He is expected to appear in bond court Wednesday.
Mr. Brown may have at one time been a sergeant but subsequent reports had him partially blind and wheelchair-bound due to diabetes. Hardly what one would consider a threat during a home invasion but they shot him in the face anyway and threaten his wife:
The assailant who was holding the weapon allegedly told the 72-year-old woman, “Keep your head down bitch or I’ll f—— blow your head off too.”
Since we’ve been told time and time again it’s “guns guns guns”, we have to wonder if this particular firearm kisses his sister with that mouth (or is it barrel?).
UPDATE: A third honor student has been charged in the case. Well done CPD.
